Malachi Moore apologizes for behavior during Vanderbilt loss – ‘I was completely out of line’

Alabama Crimson Tide fifth-year safety and team captain Malachi Moore issued an apology this week via his social media as well as doubling down to local media in person for his actions at the end of Alabama’s loss to Vanderbilt.

Moore threw what can only be described as a temper tantrum as the game’s final moments rang out, refusing to come off the field, throwing his mouthpiece, and kicking the football along with a personal foul penalty after a late and unnecessary hit on Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia.

Moore took to social media at the start of the week after his situation was the topic of much discussion and apologized to his teammates, coaches and Alabama fans:

Then, during post-practice media availability on Tuesday, Moore again took the chance while on camera to issue another apology:

“I just wanna apologize again to my family and teammates,” Moore said. “The way I acted out of frustration…we put in so much work throughout the summer time and for us to go out there and not play up to our standard was frustrating. But I take full accountability for that letting my actions get the best of me, and it won’t happen again.”

It’s safe to say that Moore has learned a major lesson through the loss and his subsequent reaction. Moore is as passionate a player as they come, and he will be better for this experience.
