Majority Leader Stadthagen’s 2026 prediction: ‘Will Ainsworth is the next Governor of Alabama’

Alabama House Majority Leader Scott Stadthagen joined “Alabama Politics This Week” in studio yesterday to discuss some legislative topics — as well as some political ones.

At the end of the interview, when asked if U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, who has been publicly mulling a run for Governor of Alabama in 2026 instead of re-election, Stadthagen (R-Hartselle) was point blank.

“Will Ainsworth is the next Governor of Alabama,” he said.

Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth is widely expected to make his run known in the coming months.
