Facebook user Pat Stewart shared some unbelievable imagery of a massive group of bald eagles descending upon flooded field to have a buffet of fish:

Stewart described the scene as over thirty bald eagles which descended to receding water in a flooded field.

While the massive group of beautiful birds was over 300 yards away from Stewart, he also captured the unbelievable scene of two of the eagles nesting in a tree right across from him.

The photos were taken in Owens Cross Roads in Madison County, a small suburb of Huntsville which holds less than 3,000 people.

Stewart’s post in the Facebook group ‘Alabama The Beautiful‘ has over 5,000 likes along with over 2,000 shares.

Stewart said that photography has been a hobby of his for 29 years, but that the opportunity to capture wildlife is his favorite.

“It’s an anomaly to have that many eagles,” Stewart said. It’s very very rare to see that many eagles. I have seen 10, maybe a dozen, but never that many.”

“When the fish come to the top, the eagles can snatch it right off the top of the water and it just so happened that a bunch of fish were trapped in a receding field and it was fishing gold for them. You don’t know when it could happen again.”
