Tuesday is primary runoff day in Alabama.

Included in the runoffs is the Republican U.S. Senate election between Katie Britt and U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), the Alabama Secretary of State race between candidates State Rep. Wes Allen (R-Troy) and State Auditor Jim Zeigler, and Alabama State Auditor race between State Rep. Andrew Sorrell (R-Muscle Shoals) and Stan Cooke.

In North Alabama, the fifth congressional district Republican runoff is taking place between former Secretary of the Army Casey Wardynski and Madison County Commission chairman Dale Strong.

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill on Tuesday afternoon described turnout as “light” but predicted it would finish up between 10-15% by the end of the day.

While describing statewide voter turnout as “light,” the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office tells @yhn that @JohnHMerrill is projecting 10-15% turnout by the time polls close. #alpolitics

Most polls close in Alabama at 7:00 p.m.
