Nearly a week after a bomb exploded outside the Alabama Attorney General’s office in Montgomery, law enforcement officials are asking for help in identifying the bomber.

The Alabama Law Enforcement  Agency, the FBI Mobile office and the Alabama Attorney General’s Office have released photos and a video of the suspect in the pre-dawn explosion.

“in the early hours of Saturday, Feb. 24, an explosive device was detonated outside of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office building in Montgomery,” Attorney General Steve Marshall said in a statement. “Thankfully, no staff or personnel were injured by the explosion. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will be leading the investigation, and we are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately.”

According to ALEA, the bomb was detonated just before 3:45 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Washington Avenue and South Bainbridge Street, outside the Attorney General’s Office in downtown Montgomery. 

Troopers assigned to ALEA’s Protective Services Division and Special Agents assigned to ALEA’s Hazardous Device Unit, along with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and officers from the Montgomery Police Department, also responded to assist.  

No injuries or damage to nearby buildings were reported. Nothing further is available as the investigation remains ongoing, ALEA said.
