As voters prepare to head to the polls for the U.S. Senate GOP primary runoff election, former Business Council of Alabama CEO Katie Britt is making her closing pitch in her campaign’s final TV ad.

The 30-second spot, titled “New Blood,” features Britt speaking directly to the voters outlining her intentions as a freshman senator.

“I’m a 40-year-old mother of two, and I believe if my generation doesn’t wake up and step up, our kids won’t have the opportunity to live their American dream,” says Britt in the ad. “That’s why I’m running this race. As your senator, I’ll defend our Christian conservative values, and I will always put Alabama and America first. I’m Katie Britt, and I approve this message. If you’re looking for new blood to shake things up in Washington and fight for Alabama, I’d be honored to earn your vote.”

In a statement announcing her campaign’s closing ad, Britt asserted that Alabama’s electorate desired for a “fresh conservative fighter” as the state’s junior U.S. Senator.

“We have worked tirelessly this past year, traveling to all 67 counties across Alabama to share our message, listen to hardworking Alabamians, and answer their questions,” said Britt. “My family and I are truly grateful for all of the prayers, support, and encouragement we’ve received along the way. It is clear that families in every corner of our state are ready to send a fresh conservative fighter to defend our values and our people in the U.S. Senate.”

She concluded, “As Alabama’s Senator, I will always fight to grow good-paying jobs and 21st century opportunity for all Alabamians, regardless of their zip code. Alabama’s future is on the ballot this Tuesday, and I would be honored to earn your vote.”

Britt will face U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) in the June 21 GOP primary runoff election to determine the party’s nominee to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa).
