Manufacture Alabama on Monday announced that it had endorsed Katie Britt’s candidacy in Alabama’s 2022 race for the U.S. Senate.

A trade association dedicated to advocating for the interests of the state’s manufacturing industry, Manufacture Alabama represents hundreds of companies across the state.

In announcing the endorsement, Manufacture Alabama president George Clark spoke to Britt’s work ethic and background experience as reasons the association was supporting her candidacy.

“Manufacture Alabama seeks to endorse pro-business candidates who will advocate on behalf of manufacturers in Alabama. Katie Britt embodies these qualities and has the tenacity and experience we need representing Alabama in the U.S. Senate,” stated Clark. “Katie has the work ethic, energy and vision required to ensure Alabama will be a great place to live and work for future generations.”

The association advised that in previous positions Britt had held, she actively supported Manufacture Alabama’s organizational mission.

Britt touted the manufacturing industry’s contributions to Alabama’s economy and touched on the need to strengthen the United States’ industrial prowess.

“I am proud to have earned the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama,” the candidate proclaimed. “Alabama’s manufacturers provide good-paying jobs in communities across our state and are critical pillars of America’s national security and competitiveness with adversaries like China.”

Britt further pledged to fight for the interests of Alabama industry and to combat what she referred to as the “special interests” of the established order.

She concluded, “Especially as we combat supply chain and inflationary issues under the Biden Administration, it is more important than ever to support our domestic manufacturers. I will always put Alabama and America first and will fight to bring back quality jobs that have been shipped overseas by ineffective, self-serving career politicians for decades. We need fresh blood in the Senate to put hardworking Alabama families above the special interests of the globalist permanent political class.”
