The U.S. Senate campaign of Republican Katie Britt has been endorsed by nonprofit trade association the Automobile Dealers Association of Alabama (ADAA).
ADAA represents and actively advocates for the interests of the state’s 300 franchised new car and truck dealers. According to a release, ADAA’s federal political action committee voted unanimously to support her candidacy.
In announcing the association’s endorsement of Britt, ADAA president Tom Dart spoke highly of the candidate and asserted that her business advocacy background would prove beneficial in her service as U.S. Senator.
“Alabama’s 300 new car and truck dealers are proud to support Katie Britt for the Republican nomination for the United States Senate,” said Dart. “She understands what makes small businesses thrive and is committed to supporting lower taxes and cutting regulatory burdens that kill job creation.”
He added, “For example, a new Federal Trade Commission rule alone will cost each new car dealer in Alabama at least $200,000 per year. Katie has the proven pro-jobs record and energy to be an outstanding advocate in Washington, D.C. for Alabama, and we enthusiastically support her campaign.”
Britt spoke to auto dealers’ contributions to Alabama’s economy and pledged to be a voice for the industry as a member of the upper chamber of Congress.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of the Automobile Dealers Association of Alabama, Inc. Auto dealers in every corner of our state create good-paying Alabama jobs, grow their local economies and strengthen their surrounding areas,” stated Britt.
She concluded, “As our nation’s automotive industry deals with supply chain disruptions, soaring inflation and labor shortages, I am proud to stand with the auto dealers who keep people and products moving across America. In the Senate, I will always fight to create an environment in which job creators can do what they do best and hardworking Alabama families can thrive in safe, strong communities.”
