The Auburn Tigers are gearing up for year two under Hugh Freeze, a season that promises better results than the team saw in 2023. With an improved roster and an offseason full of momentum, the Tigers are ready to get after it starting Saturday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium against Alabama A&M.

Arriving last year through the transfer portal from junior college was defensive back Champ Anthony, who played in every game for the Tigers in 2023 and is ready to take the next step in 2024.

During a media availability session on Tuesday, Anthony summed up the way Tiger fans are feeling as the season gets ready to get underway just five days from now:

“It’s like a volcano about to erupt. I can’t hold [in] my excitement. I’m in class thinking about football, walking to the facility thinking about football. Thinking about running out there in Jordan-Hare, I’m just real excited man. It’s hard to contain the energy,” Anthony said.

Auburn will get the season started with five straight home games in Jordan-Hare Stadium before they go on the road for the entire month of October.
