Individuals, company among Engineering Hall of Fame inductees

The Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame is inducting six individuals and a company during a ceremony this weekend. The event is Saturday at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa.

The individuals will join 215 others who have been inducted since its founding in 1987. Huntsville-based Dynetics will join 33 companies have been honored.

The inductees are Angel “Rey” Almodovar of Huntsville, Dr. Stuart Bell of Tuscaloosa, Milton Davis Jr. of Birmingham, Tim McCartney of Gadsden, the late Thomas Talbot of Birmingham, and Michael Wicks of Huntsville.

The Engineering Hall of Fame “preserves and perpetuates the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of individuals, projects and corporations/institutions, and continue to bring significant recognition to the state,” according to a news release.

The colleges and schools of engineering that oversee the hall are Alabama A&M University, Auburn University, Tuskegee University, the University of Alabama, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the University of South Alabama.
