Former University of Alabama standout quarterback Jalen Hurts shined in his Monday Night Football performance against the Minnesota Vikings.

Hurts finished the game with 390 total yards – 333 yards through the air and 57 yards on the ground. He completed 83.9% of his passes and started the game with 11 straight completions.
In addition to setting an NFL record, Hurts was the first Eagles player since Michael Vick in 2010 to gain 300 yards in the first half.
There had been questions surrounding his ability as a passer, but Hurts is the first player in NFL history to have three games with 300 or more yards passing and 50 yards or more rushing within his first three seasons.
While at Alabama, Jalen quickly became a fan favorite. The Texas native became the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback as a true freshman by the second game of the 2016 season.
He racked up numerous accolades at the culmination of his first season, including SEC Freshman of the Year, SEC Offensive Player of the Year, and Freshman All-American. He would also lead the Tide to an SEC Championship and a National Championship berth where they lost to Clemson.
After a stellar sophomore season in 2017, Hurts struggled in the first half of the National Championship against Georgia. This prompted Coach Nick Saban to give freshman Tua Tagovailoa an opportunity that would result in an overtime victory for the Tide.
Hurts played in a reserve role behind Tagovailoa the following season. However, he would have his shot to save the Alabama season off of the bench when he was called into action in a winning effort in the SEC Championship game.
Hurts and the Eagles look to capitalize on their impressive 24-7 victory over the Vikings this Sunday when they play Washington.
