Huntsville General Dynamics office awarded $1 billion space development contract

(General Dynamics Mission Systems)

General Dynamics Mission Systems has been awarded a $39.3 million  contract modification to support Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture ground management and integration and operation and sustainment efforts.

The company’s Huntsville facility will perform some of the work on the $1,085,940,546 Air Force contract.

According to a Department of Defense news release, the supplemental effort adds the capability to verify and validate system capability readiness and performance for operational acceptance of the PWSA. It also raises the contract ceiling for materials and a modification to a previously awarded unpriced change order.

Along with Huntsville, work will also be performed at Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Grand Forks, N.D., and is expected to be completed by August 2027.

The Space Development Agency in Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
