OXFORD, Ala. — 6-year-old Krymson Lindley went to her mother last week with an idea. “She wanted to raise money to give presents to the boys and girls who ‘have to spend the night in the hospital,’” Krymson’s mother Stephanie told Yellowhammer. “It was 100 percent her idea.”

So Krymson set up a lemonade stand outside the local YMCA Sunday afternoon, where two Oxford police officers stopped and “paid way too much” for some cookies and lemonade.

“They were her absolute favorite customers,” said Stephanie Lindley.

The young lady raised enough money to fill 40 bags with stuffed animals, books, crayons, and coloring books to be distributed to children on the pediatric floor at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in nearby Anniston.

“We didn’t tell her she needed to do something good for someone else this summer or anything, she came up with it on her own,” Lindley said.

Young Krymson isn’t going to stop with those 40 bags, she plans on holding at least one more lemonade stand to continue raising money for the children who need a little extra comfort and care during their hospital stay. “She’s asked me to give the hospital my cell phone number so they can call when they run out,” her mother said.

“And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’” — Matthew 18:3
