Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Greg Reed and Speaker of the House of Representatives Nathaniel Ledbetter brought aboard new communications directors for their State House staff.

Reed (R-Jasper) named Harrison Adams, a Selma native and graduate of the University of Alabama to the role.

Adams was president of the Student Government Association and received his J.D. from the Alabama School of Law this year.

“I am incredibly excited to have Harrison join our office,” said Reed. “His background, skillset, and experience make him a valuable member of our team as we continue the transformative work we are doing to improve the lives of all Alabamians.”

Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) appointed Nate Butler, a native of the district, as his office’s communications point person.

Speaker’s office communications director Rob Green, who served under multiple Speakers, is now leading legislative and external affairs for the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Butler, 28, worked with Ledbetter’s reelection campaign in 2022 and Sen. Katie Britt’s runoff campaign. He is married with two young children. He was a contributing writer for Yellowhammer News and worked for a consulting firm in Birmingham.

“Rob Green did a fantastic job for us as communications director,” Ledbetter said. “Now that he’s moved on, Nate’s job will be to build upon the program that Rob built.”
