The U.S. House of Representatives voted to officially censure U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) Tuesday night over her recent remarks against Israel’s war in Gaza.
The congresswoman has come under bipartisan condemnation after she shared a vide on X that criticized Biden’s support for Israel and included the phrase “From the river to the sea.”

The Alabama Republican congressional delegation joined the majority of their party in the vote against the Tlaib, which passed 234-188 vote. Twenty-two Democrats joined Republicans in the censure vote.
“Representative Tlaib continues to advocate for a terrorist responsible for taking thousands of innocent lives in Israel,” U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said in a statement. “On October 18, 2023, Rashida Tlaib led an anti-Semitic protest at the United States Capitol Complex following Hezbollah’s orders to carry out a ‘day of unprecedented anger.’ It is beyond shameful for a member of Congress celebrate terrorism.”

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) thinks Tlaib was just promoting “Hamas Propaganda.”
Using a phrase calling for the destruction of Israel and actively promoting Hamas propaganda has no place in the House of Representatives.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks), who chairs the House Armed Services Committee, voted for the censure because he believes her comments were beyond just being anti-Israel, they were anti-Semitic.
Rep. Tlaib’s continued parroting of Hamas’ propaganda and now painting their hateful, antisemitic rallying cry as “an aspirational call for freedom” is shameful and unbecoming of an elected official.

U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) also condemned Tlaib’s comments on the Jewish state.
“On Tuesday, I voted to censure Rashida Tlaib,” Strong said in a statement. “She has breathlessly parroted talking points from international terrorist groups and spread hatred towards the Jewish people and our greatest ally Israel. It is imperative that Congress boldly take a stance against these actions.”
