After winning his last fight in June, former WBC heavyweight champion and Tuscaloosa native Deontay Wilder is taking a new step in his career.

Wilder will appear in “Moses the Black,” a crime film produced by hip hop artist and entertainment mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, set to release through Fathom Entertainment at the end of January.

It’s unclear exactly what role Wilder is going to play, but he will be starring alongside rappers Quavo and Wiz Khalifa.

Previously, Wilder has appeared in “Magnum P.I.” in 2018 and in an episode of “Billions” back in 2019, and now he will get the chance to take on an even higher profile role.

Nicknamed “The Bronze Bomber,” Wilder is among the best boxers of his generation with an overall record of 44-4-1 in 49 professional fights. 43 of those 44 wins have come via knockout.

Now, fans of Wilder’s career in Tuscaloosa and around the state will have the chance to not only see him excel at his sport, but also on the big screen as the knockout artist broadens his horizons with an acting role in a major film.
