The arrest numbers from the annual Hangout Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama show that police were busy during the three-day music festival.
According to data published by WKRG 5, there were 94 total arrests at the event this year, down from last year’s figure of 107.
The vast majority of arrests at this years event were drug and alcohol related although one unlucky festival goer did get arrested for flying his drone to close to an area police were using as a command setup.
The charges from the arrests conducted by the Gulf Shores Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office over the weekend include:
- Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance: 78 arrests
- Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree: 12 arrests
- Public Intoxication: 12 arrests
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 4 arrests
- Underage Possession of Alcohol: 4 arrests
- Disorderly Conduct: 4 arrests
- Possessing Forged Instrument: 4 arrests
- Distribution of Controlled Substance: 3 arrests
- Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree: 2 arrests
- Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement Officer: 2 arrests
- Doing Business Without a License: 2 arrests
- Resisting Arrest: 1 arrest
- Warrant-Alias: 1 arrest
- Tampering with Physical Evidence: 1 arrest
- Prohibited Operation of Unmanned Aircraft System: 1 arrested
The festival, which was attended by just under 35,000 fans this year, annually brings in millions of dollars for the City of Gulf Shores and is now an integral part of the area’s economy.
