Guy Fieri is bringing ‘Flavortown’ to Alabama with the opening of its first location in the state this week.

Chicken Guy! is the name of the new restaurant. Created by celebrity chef and TV personality Guy Fieri, the restaurant will open Thursday at 9:30 a.m. inside the Walmart Supercenter in Gardendale.

Fieri, known for his hit Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and a string of restaurants across the country, launched the Chicken Guy! franchise with restaurateur Robert Earl. Their goal was to take crispy, juicy chicken, elevate it with bold brines and herbs, and pair it with a wide range of signature sauces.

According to Chicken Guy’s website, at the heart of the menu are hand-breaded chicken tenders that are pounded flat for extra crunch, brined in fresh lemon juice, pickle brine, and buttermilk, and infused with fresh herbs for maximum flavor.

No meal is complete without the brand’s signature sauces, crafted to satisfy sweet, smoky, tangy, and spicy cravings. Customers can also enjoy loaded sandwiches, fries, and shakes.

The brand opened its first location at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida, and has since grown to 19 restaurants nationwide, including spots at Los Angeles International Airport and Harrahs’ Resort in Atlantic City.

Two other Walmart Supercenter locations in Florida, Davie and Ocala, also feature the chicken chain.
