WHNT shared Morrow’s story.
According to the news outlet, Morrow served from 1943 to 1945. He is a Purple Heart recipient, having been injured twice, including being hit by shrapnel while serving in England.

Morrow described the war as “tough,” recalling that he spent about two weeks on the frontlines during his first tour of duty. He later earned a French Liberation Medal while serving in France.
After returning home to Alabama, Morrow has enjoyed many years surrounded by his family, which includes children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He described his loved ones as “a very important part of him.”
Reflecting on his century of life, Morrow offered advice.
“It’s been a good life. Try to be honest. Pay your debts and do unto others as you’d have them do unto you,” he said. “That’s a good one.”
The key to a good life, according to the veteran, is simple: “Love everybody.”
