‘GUILTY’: Alabama GOP elected officials react to Hunter Biden verdict

The jury in the Hunter Biden gun trial on Tuesday found him guilty on all three federal charges in connection with the purchase of a gun in 2018. The president’s son was found guilty of making a false statement on the gun application and being in possession of firearm while being a drug user.

“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad,” President Joe Biden said about the verdict. “Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today.”

Alabama’s Republican Congressional delegation reacted to the news Tuesday.

“Remember that President Biden’s DOJ tried to give Hunter Biden a sweetheart deal with full immunity,” U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) wrote. “A federal judge exposed them, and now he’s been found GUILTY.”

Moore was referring to a potential plea deal in the case that fell apart last year after a federal judge raised concerns about the terms of the agreement.

U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) said this verdict “only touches the surface of what goes on in the Biden Crime Family.”

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) reposted a statement from the GOP House Oversight Committee X page that pointed to the corruption in Biden’s Justice Department.

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) reposted a comment from Bernie Moreno’s social media that claims Hunter got off easy with this verdict.

“The laptop is real, Moreno said. “The corruption of the Biden family is real. Instead of bringing charges at the core of the Biden corruption, they chose to charge Hunter with something that didn’t involve his foreign dealings, so they could insulate and protect the Big Guy.”
