Governor Kay Ivey is among the group of Republican governors being hosted by President-elect Donald Trump tonight at Mar-a-Lago, her office confirmed on Thursday.

Ivey will join Trump and other leading conservative governors, including Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, for the gathering at a key time for top GOP officials, now just 11 days away from Trump’s inauguration.

Trump was on Capitol Hill yesterday for a closed-door meeting with Republican members of the U.S. Senate, which was attended by Sens. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), as GOP lawmakers prepare to advance Trump’s stacked legislative agenda.

As with the meeting with federal officials, tonight’s gubernatorial meeting at Mar-a-Lago will be an opportunity to synchronize the plan of approach to effectively implement Trump’s agenda, which includes immigration efforts, that have been backed on the state level by Governor Ivey consistently since Trump’s first term.
