Children across Alabama can stop worrying about the impact of the coronavirus on their Easter Sunday holiday because Governor Kay Ivey has declared the Easter Bunny as “essential” during the ongoing pandemic.
As such, the bunny can continue to make his yearly deliveries across Alabama as citizens celebrate Easter.
In a tweet posted Friday afternoon, the governor’s press secretary, Gina Maiola, said Ivey has “deemed the Easter Bunny’s duties as essential activities.
Governor Ivey believes that “delivery of jelly beans, chocolates & goodies is necessary.”
She furthermore advised Alabamians, “All social distancing guidelines still apply.”
The governor relayed that she hopes everyone across the state will “have a safe, healthy & happy Easter.”
