During a campaign stop for Republican nominee for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, Governor Kay Ivey briefly received medical attention on Sunday night after becoming dehydrated. Ivey, Dobson, Dick Brewbaker, who also vied for the GOP nomination earlier this year, were joined by campaign supporters at SweetCreek Farm Market in Pike Road, which is owned and operated by State Rep. Reed Ingram (R-Pike Road)

A spokesperson for Ivey said she quickly bounced back after receiving fluids.

“While campaigning for Caroleene Dobson at an event this evening, the governor got dehydrated. She received fluids and was evaluated on site out of precaution. She immediately felt better and is at home doing well this evening,” a spokesperson said.

Afterward, Governor Ivey posted photos of the event, encouraging Alabamians in the newly-drawn district to “get out and VOTE Tuesday to bring Caroleene to victory!” Ivey endorsed Dobson in recent months in a powerful campaign video ad.

“I’ve known Caroleene Dobson since she was a child. Her father and I served together in the student government at Auburn University. Caroleene is a knowledgeable, articulate, committed candidate. I think she’ll do well in that election,” Ivey said in a recent press gaggle in Mobile.

It was great seeing so many Caroleene Dobson supporters out tonight at SweetCreek Farm Market. I have known Caroleene her whole life, and I can tell you there is nobody better to represent AL-2 in Washington.
