Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze has finished assembling his coaching staff.

The 10 assistants include three Auburn lettermen, three former Liberty assistants, an offensive line coach with experience in the Southeastern Conference, a defensive backs coach who has returned to coach at Auburn for a third time, and two veteran coordinators who understand the level of competition in the SEC.

The former Tigers include some of the more notable players the program has produced. Cadillac Williams will remain the running backs coach. Zac Etheridge, a team captain of the 2010 National Champion team, will remain as secondary coach. Marcus Davis, a member of the 2013 team that made a national title run, is being brought on as the receivers coach.

The assistants who followed Freeze from Liberty University will play roles on offense and defense. Ben Aigamu will be the tight ends coach; Jeremy Garret has been selected as the defensive line coach; and Josh Aldridge, who has the most coaching experience out of the group, will be the linebackers coach.

Jake Thornton will become the new offensive line coach, coming from Ole Miss.

Wesley McGriff, who has previously coached at Auburn, will be the defensive backs coach.

Defensive coordinator Rob Roberts has the most experience out of the new hires with more than three decades on the sidelines.

The offensive coordinator for the Tigers will be Phillip Montgomery. He brings nearly 20 years of experience at the collegiate level.
