Former UAB Blazers head coach Bill Clark is seen to be in the running for a couple of jobs that have become open in recent weeks, according to credible reports from On3 after both East Carolina and Southern Miss parted ways with their head coaches.
Clark retired two years ago due to ongoing back issues, but by the sounds of it, he is healthy and ready to try to get back into coaching after a couple of years off.
Famously, Clark led the Blazers program back from extinction after it was terminated in 2014 and re-instated in 2017, guiding the team to 8 wins and a bowl appearance in their first year back and 11 wins and a bowl victory in 2018.

Clark won the final game he coached in during the 2021 Independence Bowl thrilling 31-28 victory over BYU before walking away from the game. Whether or not Southern Miss or East Carolina will pull the trigger and hire him, but he was named a candidate for both by On3.
With a proven track record of doing nothing but winning a ton of football games at the non-power four level, he would be an ideal candidate to lead any school that decides they want to take the leap and make Clark their new head coach. Keep an eye on both open jobs as the Birmingham legend tries to get his name back in the game.
