Flood warnings continue after Alabama heavy rains

(YHN)

Flood warnings are posted across Alabama following a weekend of heavy rains.

The National Weather Service has issued warnings for waterways including the Paint Rock River in north Alabama; the Tombigbee River in west Alabama; the Black Warrior River near Eutaw and Big Nance Creek at Courtland.

No major flooding is predicted. But forecasters say farmland, fields and some roads could be inundated.

The heaviest rains fell Saturday in southwestern Alabama, where the weather service says storm totals reached 8 to 10 inches.

Emergency officials recorded 9.34 inches of rain in the town of Grove Hill, and Thomasville received about 8.3 inches.
