First lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden will visit the Birmingham area on Friday, March 26.

She is set to hold an event promoting the projects and initiatives funded by the recent $1.9 trillion stimulus bill that passed Congress while being championed by her husband, President Joe Biden.

The FLOTUS trip is part of a nationwide tour of executive branch officials designed to tout the benefits of the massive spending bill President Biden signed into law earlier in March.

“This trip is part of the Help is Here tour to amplify how the American Rescue Plan addresses childhood poverty,” said the office of the first lady in a release on Monday morning.

The event marks the first lady’s first trip to the Magic City since assuming that title in January. She previously campaigned in Birmingham on behalf of her husband during the 2020 campaign.

The first lady’s office promised that additional details on the trip will be made available soon.
