(Russell Lands Lake Martin)

On Saturday night, the Alexander City Lookout reported that the famous SpringHouse restaurant at Lake Martin caught fire and was severely damaged. As staff were getting ready for the evening meal on Saturday, a fire erupted at the restaurant owned by Russell Lands. The company’s president, David Sturdivant, said that no one was injured in the fire.

Russell Lands’ construction manager, Chad Calhoun, said the fire started in the attic, making it hard to reach. The fire was burning for several hours, and firefighters were still working to put it out late Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters from Alexander City, Our Town, and Kowaliga came to the scene. The reason for the fire is still unknown.
