Fans of Pink Floyd will soon have a new way to experience one of rock’s most celebrated albums.

The Black Jacket Symphony is partnering with McWane Science Center for an immersive performance of “The Dark Side of the Moon.”

The exclusive VIP show will take place inside McWane’s IMAX Dome Theater, surrounding guests with a 360-degree blend of live music, light and sound.

The concert series features three performances: Friday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 13 at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The band will recreate the iconic 1973 album “note for note, sound for sound,” guiding the audience from the heartbeat of “Speak to Me,” to the final echo of “Eclipse.”

McWane’s Dome Theater will serve as the setting for the multisensory experience, pairing Black Jacket Symphony’s precise musicianship with immersive planetarium visuals that fill the entire dome.

Organizers say the environment allows the album’s themes of time, perception and space to unfold in a way traditional stages can’t match.

VIP guests will enjoy an open bar, light bites and early access to the venue. Event proceeds will support McWane’s nonprofit mission to expand science education opportunities across the Birmingham area.

Tickets for all three dates are available through the venue’s ticketing platform.
