ESPN highlights Malzahn’s rise from unheralded high school coach to SEC offensive guru

It’s hard to believe, but less than a decade ago, Auburn’s Gus Malzahn was confounding defenses as the head coach at Springdale High School in Arkansas. Now he and several other former high school coaches are leading their college football powerhouses to the top of the polls.

ESPN documented these former high school coaches’ unconventional rise to the top over the weekend in a piece titled “Coaching Up,” which you can check out above.
