A homicide investigation in Enterprise is drawing unusual attention across the Wiregrass after police arrested a 90-year-old man and charged him with murder in the shooting death of an 85-year-old woman.

Enterprise Police say officers responded late Monday morning to a report of a shooting at a residence in Enterprise. When they arrived, they found Charlotte Wolf, 85, unresponsive inside the home and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division quickly took Otto Wolf, 90, into custody at the scene and charged him with murder.

He was booked into the Coffee County Jail, and as of Monday afternoon, police said no bond had been set. Investigators have released few details beyond the basic timeline and charging decision.

Multiple Wiregrass-area reports described the victim as Wolf’s wife.
