If you are running for governor in Alabama, you are apparently in better health than anyone else your age. Sen. Bill Hightower is apparently in “excellent physical health“, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle’s doctor says he is in “very good” health, Evangelist Scott Dawson can thank God for what his doctor calls “excellent physical health“, and now Kay Ivey has released a letter from her doctor letting us know she is in “excellent health“. For those keeping score, all the candidates have excellent health, except Battle, who may be on his death bed with only “very good” health.
We also know that a doctor would NEVER LIE about the current health of a candidate for political office. Now that we know this, let’s put this issue to rest. I am challenging every GOP Gubernotorial candidate to the, newly created, “Dale Jackson Alabama Gubernatorial Fitness Test”:
10 burpees
10 sit-ups
10 air squats
200 meter run
(All you have to do is complete this in under 15 minutes.)
Why this matters: It really doesn’t. Ivey is one year older than President Donald Trump; there is no evidence she is unwell. What we have been treated to is nothing but rampant speculation and irresponsible journalism. I personally will travel to each candidate’s location anywhere in the state of Alabama and administer the “Dale Jackson Alabama Gubernatorial Fitness Test” — e-mail me at dale@new-yhn.local, unless you are not up for the challenge.
The details:
— Alabama’s political candidates are not “spring chickens”. Dawson is the youngest at 50, Hightower is 58, Battle is 62, and the current governor is 74.
— As you age, you obviously become more at-risk for heart disease and cardio vascular issues.
— No matter what happening in the Gubernatorial race, the lieutenant governor should always be ready in Alabama as three have assumed the role of governor in the last 50 years after deaths or legal problems.
— One benefit of getting older is that after you turn 54, your risk of dying by being poisoned drops significantly.
