Thursday, Madison County Commission chairman Dale Strong announced the hiring of Colin Sudduth as campaign manager of his candidacy for Alabama’s fifth congressional district.

Strong is seeking the Republican nomination for the North Alabama congressional district which will be vacated by U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), who is seeking election to the U.S. Senate.

Sudduth, a graduate of the University of Alabama, holds extensive experience in the state and national political arenas.

The Republican political operative served in numerous leadership capacities in recent election cycles for the successful candidacies of U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) and Attorney General Steve Marshall.

Strong asserted that tapping Sudduth to oversee his congressional campaign would serve to strengthen his candidacy given the operative’s former experience and political acumen.

“I am excited to have Colin Sudduth leading our team,” stated Strong. “Colin’s experience in national and state politics will be a huge asset to the campaign.”

Sudduth most recently played an instrumental role in helping the GOP regain control of the Virginia House of Delegates in the 2021 general election.

Sudduth detailed Strong’s intentions to promote North Alabama’s positioning as the nation’s preeminent national defense hub and to combat the Biden administration’s progressive agenda.

“Dale Strong is a proven conservative leader who has worked tirelessly to bring new jobs and opportunities to his community,” proclaimed Sudduth. “I am proud to join his campaign because I know he will defend our Alabama values, fight for a strong Redstone Arsenal to support our soldiers and stand up to the liberal Biden policies that are a disaster for our nation.”

The primary election is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2022.
