Coach Freeze shares inspiring reminder of faith – ‘Our true identity rests in Him alone’

Auburn University head football coach Hugh Freeze has always been open about his faith, whether it’s sharing messages of scripture, personally participating in the baptism of one of his football players last year, or talking about it in press conferences.

On Thursday, Freeze shared a message of his trust in God on his personal Instagram account.

“Just a reminder today…We aren’t meant to place our identity in our career, our past, our marital status, our children, what people say about us, or even what we’ve done for the church. The answer doesn’t come from our community, our critics, or our culture. Only God should have authority over what we believe about ourselves. Our true identity rests in Him alone,” Freeze shared along with a picture of him and his wife, Jill.
