The Marine Resources Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has announced that an Alabama oyster harvest is set to begin in the coming weeks. The department will open limited areas of public oyster bottoms reportedly for a single day harvest beginning on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association has officially crowned the champion for it's 2023 Best Fish Photo Contest. A young boy named Bry Hornsby of Notasulga was declared the winner after a photo of his first ever catch garnered over 1300 votes online.

The Yellowhammer State's red snapper season is coming to a close. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) has announced today that the season will be ending on September 4.

With dove hunting season fast approaching, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has announced that registration for the department's annual Fall youth dove hunts is set to open at 8 a.m. on August 21, 2023.

Today, the Alabama Wildlife Federation announced that it has formed a partnership with both Vulcan Materials and Cooper Marine in order to take on an important Gulf Coast environmental restoration project. Vulcan Materials will provide the limestone from its Tuscumbia Pride quarry in order to be used as oyster cultch, which is a material laid down to furnish points of attachment for recently settled oysters or “spat”.
