Sorrel, a female red panda at the Birmingham Zoo, has had a tough time of it over the last year. In March, Sorrel’s fellow red panda at the zoo passed away suddenly. Parker, a four-year-old male, was found deceased one morning with no obvious physical injuries or any indication of illness.
