The Alabama Forestry Commission has proudly announced that its mural in downtown Montgomery, created by an Alabamian from Alexander City, has officially been added to the Alabama Mural Trail. A graduate of Auburn University recently took home the top prize at the new Alabama Wildlife Fine Arts Competition, a part of the annual Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival (WEWA). Jared Knox, the winner of the 'Best in Show' category, graduated from Auburn in 2021 with a degree in mechanical engineering and had only pursued art as a hobby during the vast majority of his time on the Plains.

Heersink of Dothan has reportedly already given $95 million to the university that named UAB's Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, Marnix E. Alabama synagogues receive widespread bomb threats

Bomb threats were emailed to six of the seven Jewish entities in Central Alabama over the weekend, according to the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama. The entities that received the threats were the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama itself along with Temple Mishkan Israel in Selma, Temple Emanu-El in Dothan, Temple Beth Or in Montgomery,  Jewish Federation of Central Alabama in Montgomery,  Agudath Israel Etz Ahayem in Montgomery, Congregation Beth Shalom in Auburn.

Alabama's seven 'most welcoming towns'

It appears that the Heart of Dixie still offers some of the South's famous hospitality. Recently, WorldAtlas, an educational geography, environment, and current events website, named seven of Alabama's towns as the most welcoming in the entire state.

In a show of solidarity with Birmingham's Jewish community, leaders in Mountain Brook helped to host the suburb's first ever official menorah lighting ceremony last Friday. The event comes on the heels of Hamas' recent attack on Israel and also a drastic increase in antisemitism being experienced throughout the United States.
