Casey Rogers appointed as Alabama National Guard’s Deputy Director of External Affairs and Strategic Communication

The Alabama National Guard has announced the appointment of Casey Rogers as its new Deputy Director of External Affairs and Strategic Communication. Rogers, who previously served as the External Affairs Director for Governor Kay Ivey, officially assumes her new role today.

According to the Alabama Political Reporter, Major General David Pritchett, Adjutant General of the ALNG, highlighted Rogers’s extensive experience in building strong partnerships as a key factor in her selection. He emphasized the importance of connecting the personnel of the Alabama National Guard with leaders at all levels to address evolving threats and challenges effectively.

In her previous role within the Governor’s Office, Rogers served as the primary federal and defense liaison, contributing to policy development, legislative relations, stakeholder affairs, and strategic communication. Notably, she collaborated with the ALNG to expand its longstanding military-to-military partnership with Romania into a broader government cooperation. This initiative included an educational exchange between Auburn University’s College of Agriculture and the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest in 2024.

Rogers is a graduate of the University of Alabama, holding dual degrees. She is also an alumna of the Leadership Alabama Initiative Class VII and has served as a Staff Academy of Governmental Excellence Fellow with the Council of State Governments. Her professional background includes roles in policy, legislative, and communication capacities for the Alabama Farmers Federation, former U.S. Representative Martha Roby, and Pioneer Electric Cooperative.

The appointment marks a new chapter in Rogers’s career, transitioning from her role in the Governor’s Office to a pivotal position within the Alabama National Guard, where she will continue to serve the state by strengthening the ties between the military and civilian sectors.
