According to latest filings with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), Republican nominee for Alabama’s 2nd congressional district, Caroleene Dobson, accrued over $527,000 in campaign contributions since mid-April.

The recorded totals place the political newcomer among the top ten non-incumbent GOP candidates running for U.S. Congress, Dobson’s campaign announced.

“Considering the federal fundraising limits that are in place and the fact that I have never run for office, raising more than $527,000 in such a short period is an incredible achievement, and it offers strong evidence that voters want to put our country back on the right track,” Dobson said.

“The citizens of Alabama’s Second Congressional District need a representative who will stop runaway inflation and sticker shock in the grocery aisles, end the flood of illegal immigration at our borders, and join the fight against crime and violence in our cities, streets, and neighborhoods.”

The FEC Report showed that the exact amount of contributions since mid-April totaled out to $527,230.64 Roughly two-thirds of those contributions originated from within the district or state, with the remaining balance coming from out-of-state donors.

Among the main contributors were political committees led by U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, U.S. Senator Katie Britt, U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Chair of the House Republican Conference.
