Bruce Pearl, Head Coach of the Auburn University men’s basketball team, has been a staunch and vocal supporter of President Donald Trump’s drive to retake the White House. Pearl has been especially passionate in arguing for Israel’s right to self-defense against radical Islamic forces.

After President Trump was declared the winner early this morning a few hours later, Pearl posted on X and offered a few simple reasons as to why he believes Trump ultimately triumphed over Kamala Harris.

Pearl’s backing of the president-elect has been steadfast. In July, after the attempted assassination of Trump, the head coach praised him for his bravery in the face of danger but also assigned blame for the potential tragedy.

“Thank God President Trump survived this assassination attempt,” Pearl said. “His courageous reaction moments after getting shot tells you he is willing to take a bullet and fight for this country. Political violence has been tolerated, the media, Justice Dept, others are complicit.”

The following month, Pearl took to the social media site to criticize Democrats for their hypocrisy in casting Donald Trump as a danger to freedom and

Pearl has been the head coach of the Tigers since the 2014-2015 season. According to Auburn University, since arriving on The Plains he has guided the team to 173 wins in nine seasons, the program’s first No. 1 ranking in both national polls, and a run to the NCAA Final Four in 2019. He is the only head coach (football or men’s basketball) in SEC history to lead two programs to a No. 1 national ranking (Auburn in 2022 and Tennessee in 2008).
