Bruce Pearl likens anti-Jewish violence in Gaza to New Orleans ISIS attack – ‘This is evil!’

Auburn men’s basketball head coach Bruce Pearl often speaks of politics on his social media accounts, frequently talking about the ongoing conflict in Gaza between Israel and Palestine.

On Thursday morning, Pearl reacted to a clip of a naked Jewish person being beaten in the street by Palestinians and connected it to the New Year’s Eve attacks in New Orleans:

“This is evil!” Pearl said on his X account. “Some people support Hamas and the citizens of Gaza and call this resistance! Some people support what happened in New Orleans by an American radicalized terrorist! Stop making excuses for horrific behavior and allowing schools and institutions to teach otherwise!”

The events in New Orleans caused a one day delay in the playing of the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia. As of Thursday afternoon, the death toll stood at 15 in the truck attack allegedly committed by 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a Texas native who served in the United States Military.

Details are still coming out about potential motives and whether or not anyone else was involved, but officials did confirm that there was an ISIS flag on the truck used to commit the sick attack.
