Britt, Tuberville blame Bidenomics for rising cost of Thanksgiving meal

According to Alabama’s two U.S. Senators, the Biden administration is to blame for your turkey and cranberry sauce costing more this year.

The American Farm Bureau Federation statistics do show that costs for Thanksgiving have gone down slightly by 4% in 2023 compared to 2022, but are still 25% higher than they were before the pandemic hit in 2020.

U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) believe Americans are having to pay those extra costs this year because of “Bidenomincs.”

“Bidenomics continues to devastate our hardworking citizens,” Tuberville said, “especially during the holidays.”

Americans will pay 25% more for their Thanksgiving dinner than in 2019.

Britt pointed to the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor to show that all food costs are up this year because of inflation.

“Thanks to Bidenomics, as Americans gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, they’ll have to pay 20% more for everything from the turkey to cranberry sauce,” Britt said. “The consequences of this Administration’s tax-and-spend agenda hit home for hardworking families this holiday season.”
