U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) has a message for Russian President Vladimir Putin after he officially banned her from his country.
“It was just announced that Putin has banned me from Russia,” Britt said on Twitter. “I’d say bless his heart, but he doesn’t have one.”

Friday, the Russian government announced bans on 500 U.S. citizens from entering the country, including nearly 50 members of Congress.
Britt and U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) were among the lawmakers on the new list.
Russia said the ban is in response to new sanctions as well as the U.S. not granting visas to media traveling with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrow to the United Nations.
Britt and Strong now join other members of Alabama’s delegation who were banned from the country last year – U.S. Reps. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville), Jerry Carl (R-Mobile), Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), and Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham).
Outside of current members of Congress, the list also included former President Barack Obama, late night television host Stephen Colbert, cable news host Rachel Maddow, and Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
