U.S. Sen. Katie Britt has officially finished her first month in office.

And, to say she had a productive first 30 days would be an understatement.

Britt (R-Montgomery) is a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations; the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; and the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.

Britt co-sponsored eight bills, including the Protecting Individuals with Down Syndrome Act, No Budget No Pay Act, and Full Faith and Credit Act. She also co-sponsored The FARM Act, which was put together by her Alabama colleague, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).

“I’ve hit the ground running in the Senate, fighting for Alabama’s people, values, and interests every day,” she said. “It’s a true honor to serve our great state, and I’ll continue to work tirelessly to preserve the American Dream for generations to come.”

Britt has already been a part of three resolutions of disapproval since being sworn in and also has co-sponsored four resolutions.

The new senator traveled frequently in her first month on the job. Six days after taking her oath, Britt took her first official visit to the Del Rio Sector of the U.S.-Mexico Border. She then visited Dallas County and Autauga County in Alabama to survey the damage inflicted by the severe storms on the area.

Britt is currently visiting the San Diego Border Sector which she has labeled as “the epicenter for fentanyl trafficking.”
