Former State Sen. Dick Brewbaker, GOP candidate for Congressional District 2, released his second televised campaign ad. Brewbaker’s ad, entitled ‘Not that complicated’ will air on broadcast, cable, and streaming television across the district.

“Look, this is not that complicated when dealing with border issues,” Brewbaker says. “There are countries all over the world that have secure borders. For most of the history of our country we had a secure southern border, we just don’t have one now.”

“The way to fix it is the simple solutions that everyone hearing my voice already knows.”

“Build the wall, patrol the borders, and when people cross illegally send them home.”

In January, Brewbaker released his first television ad called ‘Liberty, Security, and Limited Government’:

During his time in the Alabama Legislature, Brewbaker, represented Pike Road in the senate from 2010 until 2018 after serving two terms in the House. He is also a former teacher and the longtime President and CEO of Brewbaker Motors, a family-owned car dealership in Montgomery.

After federally-imposed redistricting, CD2’s boundaries, which now spans across south Alabama, includes all of Montgomery County and a portion of Mobile County, has a voting age population that is 49% Black, potentially favoring Democratic candidates. Several candidates are attempting to keep the district red in 2024, including State Sen. Greg Albritton (R-Wetumpka) and Montgomery real estate attorney from a cattle farming family, Caroleene Dobson.

The Republican primary election for District 2 will be held on March 5.
