Governor Bentley and Legislative Leaders to Detail Education Initiative

MONTGOMERY – Governor Robert Bentley, House Speaker Mike Hubbard, and Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh will hold a news conference on Wednesday, March 14 to detail the Education Options Act of 2012.

The Education Options Act, to be filed in the coming days, will give school systems more flexibility and local control in order to better customize education for the needs of students.  The legislation also calls for the creation of public charter schools as part of an effort to give students and parents more education options.
