Tuscaloosa officials arrested three people Tuesday with connections to the murder of 23-year-old mother Jennifer Nevin. Nevin’s body was found Monday morning on the side of Watermelon Road by a person checking a gas well.

Police arrested Koran Rashad Lewis (23), Kendrick Ky’Andre Marshall (16), and Vida Milagros Confetti (20), and charged them all with murder. Lewis and Marshall are both being held on a $150,000 bond, and Confetti is being held on a $100,000 bond. Marshall and Confetti both confessed to beating and shooting Nevin after leaving a party in Cottondale with her. Lewis admitted that his gun was used. All three claim that they killed Nevin out of fear she was setting them up to be robbed.

Tuscaloosa Police worked tirelessly Monday to recreate the events leading up to Nevin’s death. Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Capt. Gary Hood told the Tuscaloosa News:

“We developed some leads last night, worked on them all day today. We interviewed multiple people, several witnesses. We were able to develop a timeline and recreate the last days of Miss Nevin’s life.”

Officials say additional leads are being looked into, and others may be charged at a later date.

Nevin leaves behind a 5-year old son. Her brother, Will Nevin, told the Tuscaloosa News that she had struggled with substance abuse in the past and that he believes her death could be linked to some of the people she was connected with. The life and legacy of such a young mother will be mourned by her family, friends, and the entire community.
