BeefPAC, the political arm of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, announced its support for Derek Chen for State Auditor this week.

Chen, a Vestavia Hills resident and attorney, announced he’s running for State Auditor in April to “restore trust and ensure taxpayer resources are used responsibly.”

“Derek Chen has shown a strong commitment to good government and accountability, values that matter to Alabama’s cattle producers,” said Erin Beasley, Executive Vice President of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association. “He understands the importance of fiscal responsibility and will bring integrity and diligence to the State Auditor’s Office.”

The cattle industry is one of Alabama’s most vital agricultural sectors, contributing more than $2.5 billion to the state’s economy each year and supporting thousands of jobs across rural communities.

“I’m honored to have the support of Alabama’s cattlemen,” Chen said.

“The men and women who make up this industry represent the best of our state. They are hardworking, honest, and deeply committed to their communities. As State Auditor, I will bring that same work ethic to ensure Alabama’s government operates with transparency, accountability, and efficiency.”

Chen received his undergraduate degree from Hope College, his law degree from Cumberland School of Law, and an MBA from the University of Alabama. He has practiced law in Jefferson County and has been a vocal supporter of President Trump and his America First agenda.

Chen is the son of legal immigrants from Taiwan who fled the threat of Communist China. He credits his family’s story with shaping his belief in freedom, accountability, and responsible government.

The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association does not issue candidate endorsements. Rather, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association supports candidates through their political arm, BeefPAC.
