ProgressPAC, the Business Council of Alabama’s pro-jobs political affiliate, today endorsed eight incumbents seeking re-election in the 2024 appellate court races.

“ProgressPAC does not take endorsements lightly,” said ProgressPAC Chairman Mark Drew of Protective Life Corp. “We are endorsing these candidates because of their proven track record of fairly interpreting and impartially applying the law while on the bench.

“Having a strong, fair, impartial, and predictable judicial branch is critical to our state and local efforts to attract and retain jobs and businesses. ProgressPAC is proud to support pro-business candidates who will make sure Alabama continues to flourish.”

BCA’s first slate of endorsed judicial candidates includes incumbents seeking re-election:

  • Tommy Bryan – Supreme Court, Place 2
  • Will Sellers – Supreme Court, Place 3
  • Jay Mitchell – Supreme Court, Place 4
  • Christy Edwards – Court of Civil Appeals, Place 1
  • Chad Hanson – Court of Civil Appeals, Place 2
  • Terry Moore – Court of Civil Appeals, Place 3
  • Richard Minor – Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 1
  • William “Bill” Cole – Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3

“As judicial activism becomes increasingly more widespread in states across the country, we must continue to support the individuals who follow through on their pledge to firmly uphold the rule of law rather than legislate from the bench,” said ProgressPAC Executive Director Caroline Franklin.

“ProgressPAC remains committed to fighting for Alabama’s future by endorsing the candidates who are not afraid to step up and protect Alabama business.”
