U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) has announced the opening of the Barry Moore Congressional Art Competition for high school students across Alabama’s 1st Congressional District.

Students may begin submitting artwork and registration forms starting February 19, 2026. Entries will be accepted at Moore’s district offices in Dothan, Andalusia, Foley, Bay Minette, and Mobile. The submission deadline for the Barry Moore Congressional Art Competition is March 24, 2026.

The Congressional Art Competition was created in 1982 as a bipartisan initiative to recognize and encourage artistic talent among high school students nationwide. Each year, members of the U.S. House of Representatives host competitions in their districts in partnership with the Congressional Institute.

Winning entries from each congressional district are displayed for 11 months inside the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit is viewed by Members of Congress, congressional staff, and visitors from around the world, making it one of the most-seen student art showcases in the country.

For more information, students and families may call 334-547-6630 or email denine.richey@mail.house.gov. Registration forms and additional details are available on Moore’s official website under the Congressional Art Competition page.
